In Explore MIG Welding you will learn:

  • Understand the basic principles of MIG welding, including the role of the welding machine, wire feed, and shielding gas.
  • Learn how to set up and prepare the MIG welding equipment, including selecting the appropriate wire, gas, and voltage settings.
  • Develop the ability to safely handle and operate the MIG welding torch, including proper hand and body positioning.
  • Learn how to create and maintain a stable and consistent arc during the welding process.
  • Understand the importance of proper joint preparation and fit-up for successful MIG welding.
  • Develop the skills to control the weld pool and create smooth and even weld beads.
  • Learn how to recognize and troubleshoot common welding defects, such as porosity, undercutting, and lack of fusion.
  • Understand the importance of safety precautions while MIG welding, including wearing appropriate personal protective equipment (PPE) and ensuring proper ventilation in the work area.
