What is included in Woodshop 102?
In this fun class you’ll be guided by our all-around nice guy (and red seal carpenter) Tim Knelson on how to build a pair of small succulent planters. We have a variety of designs and materials you can build from and customize to your liking. These planters make a wonderful Christmas gift 🙂
By laminating multiple different pieces of wood, you will construct a block which you will then cut into your desired shape on the bandsaw. After you are happy with your shape, you will drill a hole about 2 inches deep in the top of your block using one of our drill presses. Finish up with some additional shaping on the disc sander, apply your desired surface finish, and add your cactus.
You’ll get to learn to use the following tools:
- band saw
- table saw
- mitre saw
- drill press
- edge sander, and
- disc sander
In addition to the larger woodshop equipment, you will be guided in glueing, clamping, sanding and finishing your planters to a standard even your mother-in-law would be impressed with.
We’ll provide you with all the raw materials you’ll need to create 2 full succulent planters, including: hardwoods, wood glues, epoxy and finishes.
