Program Coordinator

Fuse33 is Calgary’s largest makerspace. It is a place where people of all backgrounds, ages, economic and physical abilities come to grow, learn and MAKE!

From its inception, it has been a place where people with diverse backgrounds gather with a common vision—to create opportunity, self-sustainability and, perhaps most importantly, community. By fusing talented individuals from various backgrounds, and offering a large variety of maker tools it has become a collaborative workspace that fosters growth and human connectivity. Our mission is to provide a collaborative, inclusive workspace that inspires creativity, innovation, and entrepreneurship. We strive to offer access to a wide range of tools, technology, and resources that enable our members to bring their ideas to life, learn new skills, and share their knowledge with others. We are committed to creating a supportive community that encourages growth and learning, and to making a positive impact on our local and global community.

The vision of Fuse33 is to be the leading community-based collaborative workspace in Alberta, fostering a culture of creativity, innovation, and entrepreneurship. By collaborating with organizations and institutions both in Calgary and Canada-wide, we aspire to provide access to the latest tools, technology, and resources to empower our members to turn their ideas into reality. We aim to create a welcoming and supportive community that inspires learning, growth, and positive change. Our ultimate goal is to be a catalyst for innovation, creativity, and economic growth in our city and beyond.

In partnership with the Alberta Government Seniors, Community and Social Services (SCSS) Fuse33 has been engaged to deliver a 2-year project called Journey of Learning and Creating through Maker Community. The Skill Development program is 3 months in duration. It will be designed to build out
the foundational skills across a variety of tools and equipment in the markerspace.

how to use the tools and equipment. In addition to learning new skills, the makers will be
given the opportunity to develop their own product ideas and receive coaching and
mentorship to take the items to market or build out their experiences for potential work
opportunities.

The Inspiration program consists of 2 hr skill development times once a week over the
course of 2 months. This will provide the intake students with the opportunity to explore
and learn at a high level how to use different tools and equipment throughout the
makerspace. Up to 10 hrs of mentorship will be available on an as-needed basis
throughout the week as they continue to develop their skills and work on their
projects/products.
